How testing electric vehicles battery ?
The batteries of electric vehicles are very important. Because the reason why people in the past did not prefer electric vehicles was the weakness of the battery.
Companies producing electric vehicles also take this into account and produce these vehicles with powerful components.
Consumers should be maintence their car’s battery because ıt is so important if they don’t and use wrong for example (fast charging and uncharging full before )they may pay high battery cost.
Tests for battery
Mechanical test, Electrical test ,Environment test
Mechanical test: Drop, penetratic, Immersion, crush, rollover tests.
Drop test: It is done due to the risk of falling during insertion and removal.
Penetratic test: This is done so that sharp objects do not enter the cell space.
Immersion Test: Battery is immersed in water 1-2 hours.
Crush test: Creastes the same conditions as an accident and the condition of the battery is checked.
Rollover test: Battery pack is rotated to 360 degrees.
Electrical Test:
External short circuit : External short circuit measures safety performance from over current protection.
Over charging: Evaluates the functioning of battery while charging.
Environmental Test:
Thermal Stability: Evaluates thermal stability of battery under different temperatures.
Thermal shock and cycling: it determines the changes in batteries such as expansion contraction (temp. Diff)
